Stylebook is the app people mean when they say they have "kept a closet app for years". Megu is the app for people who never managed to. The difference is who does the tagging.
What Stylebook is
Stylebook has been on the App Store since 2010, costs $4.99 once with no in-app purchases listed, and holds a 4.7 rating from about 8,800 reviews. It runs on iPhone and iPad. You import photos, build outfits on a canvas, plan them on a calendar, pack for trips, and keep statistics. It is thorough, stable and entirely yours to organise.
The thing to understand is that Stylebook is a tool, in the hand-tool sense. It does not assemble outfits for you and cataloguing is hands-on: you are the one cropping, tagging and combining. For a lot of people that control is the whole appeal.
What Megu is
Megu is built on the assumption that you will not do the tagging. Photograph a piece anywhere, at any angle, and AI Polish re-renders it as a studio shot, names it, and tags kind, colour and style. From there the app makes the first move each morning: a look built from your closet for the hours you will be outdoors, a planner that takes a sentence and lays out a week, and a stylist that answers "wedding tonight" with an actual outfit. iPhone only, iOS 18 or later, subscription with a free trial.
