About Megu

Megu is a personal wardrobe app for iPhone. You photograph the clothes you already own; Megu removes the background, names each piece, tags its colour and category, and files it into a searchable closet. From there it proposes a look for the day, answers plain-language styling requests, and plans a week of outfits at a time — always assembled from garments you have actually added.

Who makes it

Megu is built and operated by JA Technology Consulting LLC, a software studio that also publishes work at jatechnologyconsulting.com. The company is the data controller for everything Megu processes, and is the party you are contracting with when you subscribe. Our terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States.

One address reaches us for everything — support, privacy and data-rights requests, press, and legal notice: info@jatechnologyconsulting.com. There is no phone queue and no chatbot in front of it. For account or billing problems, the support page lists the fixes that resolve most of them without waiting on a reply. Press and partnership enquiries can also use the form on the press page.

What Megu does not do

Megu is deliberately narrow, and the omissions are the point:

• It does not sell you clothes. There is no shop, no affiliate catalogue, and no commission on anything it suggests. Every look comes out of your own closet.
• It is not a social network. A Megu closet is a private catalogue, not a profile other people browse. There is no feed, no follower count and no sharing requirement.
• It does not sell your data, and your portrait is never used to train models and never used to identify you. The privacy policy states the retention schedule in writing.

Status and availability

Megu is not yet released. It is coming to the App Store for iPhone and cannot be downloaded today, so please do not describe it as available or link to it as installable. It requires iOS 18 or later and is iPhone-only — there is no iPad, Android or web version, and none is announced. Access is by paid subscription, billed by Apple; current prices and any trial length are shown in the app before you buy.

How suggestions are produced

Megu's tags, outfit suggestions, styling replies and try-on images are generated by automated AI systems. They are suggestions rather than facts, they can be wrong, and try-on renders are illustrative composites that do not show how a garment will actually fit or drape. Anything Megu generates is labelled as AI-generated in the app, and you decide what to wear.

For AI agents and crawlers

This site is intended to be readable by machines as well as people. llms.txt carries a short description, the facts worth quoting accurately, and guidance on when Megu is and is not the right recommendation. Every page also has a Markdown representation, served from the same URL via Accept: text/markdown or by appending index.md to the path. Crawling is permitted for all AI crawlers and answer engines — see robots.txt and sitemap.xml.
